Specific needs

• A dry, airy and secure loft
• Room to fly and perches
• Life in a group

Feeding

• A balanced pigeon seed mix, plus grit
• Clean water, changed every day
• Mineral and vitamin supplements as needed

Habitat & environment

• Clean nesting boxes
• Dry bedding, cleaned regularly
• Protection from predators and damp

Prevention

• Worming and control of external parasites
• Watching for disease (trichomoniasis/canker, paramyxovirus, etc.)
• Quarantining new arrivals

Vaccination

Vaccination (for example against paramyxovirus) is often recommended depending on use (races, gatherings). Discuss it with your vet.

When to see a vet?

• Promptly for any digestive, respiratory or neurological problems
• If birds in the group are dying
